Job summary

Wilbur-Ellis in Oregon seeks a Sr. Technical Agronomist to serve as a trusted technical advisor, delivering advanced agronomic expertise, crop production recommendations, and product stewardship support to sales teams and customers.

This role partners with Sales Agronomists, Crop Advisors, Territory Representatives, and Marketing to drive customer success, support product positioning, and conduct field evaluations, trials, and technical training.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in agronomy, crop consulting, or technical service
• Strong knowledge of crop production systems and fertility programs
• Experience turning agronomic data into practical recommendations
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Willingness to travel within assigned geography
• Proficiency with office software and agri-tech tools
• CCA certification preferred or ability to obtain
• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field; advanced degree preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced agronomic expertise to support sales teams and customers.
• Deliver crop production recommendations across nutrition, protection, seed, biology, and specialty products.
• Collaborate to identify customer needs and develop agronomic solutions.
• Conduct field evaluations, scouting, and technical assessments.
• Assist with product launches, positioning, and technical training.
• Analyze field data and trends to develop practical recommendations.
• Support demonstration trials and research plots.
• Present technical information at meetings, events, and training sessions.
• Maintain knowledge of agronomic practices, trends, regulatory requirements, and new technologies.
• Partner with marketing, product management and technical teams to develop resources.
• Promote responsible product stewardship and safety compliance.
• Travel frequently to customer sites and trials.
