The position involves investigation, interviewing parties, evaluating liability, and preparing detailed reports, with guidance from the Claims Team Leader. Office-based position with standard claims responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Review claim and policy information to provide background for investigation.
• Interview insureds, claimants, witnesses, physicians, attorneys, police officers, etc. to secure necessary claim information.
• Evaluate liability and extent of the company’s obligation under the policy.
• Prepare reports on investigation, settlements and denials.
• Set reserves within authority limits and discuss changes with Team Leader.
• Assist Team Leader in developing methods and improvements for handling claims.
• Inform claimants of denial when applicable.
