Job summary

ClassLink is seeking a Senior Agentic Data Engineer (IC3) to lead the design and evolution of scalable data platforms, cloud-native services, and AI-enabled data capabilities that support our products, analytics, and technology strategy. You will collaborate across Product, Engineering, Security, Infrastructure, and Analytics to establish engineering best practices and deliver secure, reliable data solutions.

This role is 100% remote eligible, with quarterly strategy meetings that are in-person.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in data engineering, backend software, or cloud-native development.
• Advanced Python and modern software practices (OO, async, typing, architecture).
• Experience with SQLAlchemy, Alembic migrations, PostgreSQL, data pipelines.
• Design scalable REST APIs, distributed systems, cloud-native applications.
• Experience with AWS, IaC (Terraform), CI/CD, observability, and DevOps.
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and mentor teams.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of complex data platforms, cloud-native data services, and scalable pipelines.
• Establish best practices for AI-assisted development, data quality, and reliability.
• Evaluate emerging data technologies and guide technical adoption.
• Champion AI-assisted engineering tools to boost productivity and quality.
• Design scalable data architectures balancing security, performance, and business goals.
• Mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions across teams.
• Collaborate with Product, Security, Infrastructure, and Analytics.
