Job summary

Robots & Pencils is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to serve as the technical lead for a full-scale agentic AI program. You will own the technical vision, guide large teams, set architecture and evaluation standards, and partner with executives to define the AI roadmap across multiple workstreams.

You will lead technical delivery, ensure quality, and drive velocity while shaping how agentic AI scales in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of data science and AI/ML experience with enterprise-scale production systems.
• Experience leading multi-stream, client-facing AI programs with senior stakeholder influence.
• Hands-on with LLMs, agentic systems, prompt engineering, and evaluation design.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of all agentic AI workstreams from framing to deployment.
• Define reference architecture for agentic systems including multi-agent orchestration and vector DBs.
• Lead cross-team delivery, manage blockers, and maintain quality and velocity at scale.
• Define model development standards and production readiness across the program.
• Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks for LLMs and agent performance.
• Collaborate with executives to define the AI roadmap and strategy.
• Mentor technical leads and senior practitioners across teams.
