Job summary

Robots & Pencils is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead an enterprise agentic AI program, setting architectural direction and guiding multiple workstreams toward a cohesive, high-quality delivery.

You will serve as the senior technical authority, partnering with executives to define the AI roadmap and drive scalable ML platforms, ensuring production readiness, security, and measurable impact for clients.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of data science and AI/ML experience in enterprise-scale environments.
• Proven track record leading multi-stream technical delivery.
• Experience overseeing large multi-team programs and managing risk.
• Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication.
• Hands-on with LLM and agentic systems, including prompt engineering and multi-agent orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight across all agentic AI workstreams from design to production.
• Define reference architecture and evaluation standards for agentic systems.
• Manage cross-team delivery, dependencies, and quality across the program.
• Set standards for model development, experimentation, and production readiness.
• Establish rigorous evaluation frameworks for AI performance, safety, and cost.
