Job summary

Robots & Pencils is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to lead an agentic AI program. You will set technical direction, govern multi-stream architecture, and drive delivery across large teams while partnering with executives to shape the AI roadmap.

You will oversee architecture, evaluation, and production readiness, ensuring reliability, security, and scalable performance in enterprise environments.

Qualifications

• 12+ years in data science and AI/ML with production-scale AI systems.
• Proven leadership of multi-team delivery with cross-functional influence.
• Hands-on with LLMs, agenticity, prompt engineering, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Strong Python and modern ML stack, plus AWS GenAI experience.
• Experience leading AI programs in enterprise settings with governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight of all agentic AI workstreams from design to deployment.
• Define reference architecture for agentic systems and orchestration.
• Manage cross-team delivery, resolve blockers, maintain quality at scale.
• Set standards for model development and production transition.
• Establish evaluation frameworks for LLM performance, safety, and cost.
