Job summary

Santander Consumer USA Inc. in the United States seeks an Agency Desk Associate to support the middle office of syndicated and bilateral loan facilities where Santander acts as Administrative and/or Collateral Agent.

You will coordinate, monitor, and control agency responsibilities across the loan lifecycle, ensuring deal terms are communicated to stakeholders. This role requires reviewing legal documentation, coordinating with Front Office, Legal, and Risk teams, and validating servicing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience: Business or equivalent degree.
• 5+ years experience with commercial loan operations.
• Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and bank systems.
• Team player with ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong knowledge of syndicated and commercial loan products.
• Ability to interpret legal documentation supporting these products.
• Knowledge of industry standards for syndicated/commercial loans.

Responsibilities

• Supports middle office oversight of Santander-agented transactions: new deals, amendments, waivers, extensions, refinancings, repayments, maturities.
• Reviews and interprets credit agreements, fee letters, notices, collateral and guarantee documents to identify obligations and deadlines.
• Coordinates with Front Office, Legal, Credit Risk, Loan Operations, Treasury, borrowers, lenders, and counsel.
• Monitors funding dates, rate resets, fee dates, reporting requirements, and maturities.
• Prepares, reviews, and validates agency deliverables and amendment coordination.
• Investigates discrepancies related to cash, fees, or collateral; supports issue resolution.
• Partners with Operations to reflect terms and allocations in LoanIQ or servicing systems.
• Maintains evidence, approvals, and documentation for audit and internal control purposes.
• Escalates risks and gaps to stakeholders; contributes to process improvements.
• Mentors less experienced team members on agency processes and escalation protocols.
