Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Performance Simulation Application Engineer in Mossville, IL. You will lead aftertreatment software, coordinate calibration across programs, and drive rapid prototyping and validation of advanced systems.

The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure timely software and control releases and deployment into production. You will develop high-level software strategies, manage simulations, and contribute to controls development and validation

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.

Responsibilities

Serve as the aftertreatment software lead, coordinating software and calibration execution across development programs.
Own and manage software schedules and key deliverables, maintaining alignment with program, test, and validation milestones.
Drive calibration readiness, ensuring required calibrations are developed, reviewed, and delivered in time to support testing and program commitments.
Develop high-level software and controls strategies that align system requirements, controls architecture, calibration development, and production needs.
Identify software and calibration execution risks early and coordinate cross-functional actions to maintain program timing.
Provide technical leadership across software, controls, simulation, calibration, and validation activities, helping drive issues from identification through resolution.
