Job summary

Seattle Social Housing Developer is seeking a Housing Developer III to lead the development of complex, multifamily, mixed-income rental housing from concept to closeout in Seattle, WA. You will manage budgets, schedules, due diligence, contracts, and project risks while coordinating with external partners and SSHD leadership.

The role reports to the Chief Real Estate Development Officer and requires strong experience in affordable housing finance, design, permitting, and construction

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive, deep domain professional experience in affordable housing finance, project management, or construction management.
• Strong knowledge of affordable housing finance tools and regulatory compliance.
• Commitment to housing equity and working with communities most impacted by displacement and housing instability.
• Highly organized, independent, able to manage multiple high-priority deals and stakeholder relationships in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage development of complex multifamily mixed-income rental housing from concept through feasibility, design, permitting, construction, and closeout.
• Oversee site selection, due diligence, financing, procurement, and risk management; coordinate consultants and contractors.
• Lead coordination with internal teams and external partners, and present to SSHD leadership, board committees, and community stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with contracts, sensitivity to budgets and schedules, and alignment with SSHD’s values and policies.
• Support acquisitions and cross-department collaboration to advance SSHD’s housing portfolio.
