Job summary

LHH is seeking a Senior Affordable Housing Accountant in Tigard, Oregon, to oversee key accounting functions for a multifamily affordable housing portfolio. The role includes financial reporting, GL management, month-end close, budgeting support, audit coordination, and compliance with subsidy regulations.

The ideal candidate has strong property accounting experience, a collaborative leadership style, and familiarity with Yardi.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• Affordable housing or housing subsidy accounting experience required.
• Minimum of five years of experience with Yardi property management software strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close activities for assigned property portfolios, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Review and oversee general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and annual planning processes.
• Coordinate affordable housing audits and ensure regulatory compliance and reporting requirements.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and SOPs.
• Mentor, train, and support accounting staff on complex accounting matters and best practices.
