Job summary

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s in a relevant field and 5+ years of aerospace welding experience, with GTAW, GMAW, and NDT proficiency, plus knowledge of weld standards and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
• 5+ years welding engineering experience in aerospace/defense/high-reliability manufacturing.
• Experience creating and maintaining weld schedules and welding procedures.
• Strong knowledge of welding metallurgy, heat input control, distortion management, and weld defect analysis.
• Experience supporting AS9100 quality management systems and NADCAP welding audits.
• Familiarity with AWS, ASME, AMS, and customer-specific welding requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop, qualify, and maintain welding procedures and weld schedules for production and development programs.
• Support manufacturing processes involving nickel alloy sheet metal, forgings, and complex assemblies.
• Provide technical expertise in GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), resistance welding, laser welding, and other joining methods.
• Establish process parameters and evaluate weld integrity through metallurgical analysis and testing.
• Review drawings and customer requirements to determine welding/fabrication needs.
• Lead root cause investigations related to weld quality issues and drive corrective actions.
• Collaborate with Quality and Production to improve weld performance, productivity, and first-pass yield.
• Support new product introduction with weld process development and qualification.
• Prepare welding documentation including work instructions, specs, and qualification records.
• Engage with customers, suppliers, and regulators on welding processes and compliance.
• Assist audits (AS9100/NADCAP) and continuous improvement initiatives.
