Job summary

The Senior Aerospace Technician Trainer at Rocket Lab USA will be based at the Space Structures Complex in Middle River, MD. You will develop and deliver hands-on training for aerospace manufacturing, assembly and repair, ensuring technicians are proficient while meeting safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

You will partner with engineering, quality, and production teams to address gaps, create work instructions, and promote continuous improvement on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 8+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience in training and developing and implementing learning strategies.
• Must be certified or able to become certified in all composites work centers.
• Intermediate Math Skills and ability to teach others.
• Experience training and mentoring newer technicians on industry standards and processes.
• Familiarity with drilling, laminating, and assembly prints; working with material data sheets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training programs for aerospace manufacturing, assembly, and repair processes.
• Train personnel on aerospace-grade materials, prepregs, resins, fibers, core materials, and adhesives.
• Ensure training emphasizes compliance with aerospace standards, engineering drawings, and specifications (FAA, AS9100).
• Create and maintain work instructions, visual aids, and training documentation.
• Evaluate technician proficiency through practical assessments and certifications.
• Support onboarding, recurrent training, and cross-training of composite technicians.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to address defects and process improvements.
• Troubleshoot composite manufacturing issues and incorporate lessons learned into training content.
