Job summary

Rocket Lab in Middle River, MD seeks an Aerospace Technician Trainer to develop and deliver training for aerospace manufacturing, assembly, and repair, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and safety requirements. You will collaborate with engineering, quality, and production to address defects and promote continuous improvement on the shop floor.

The role includes evaluating technician proficiency, onboarding, and cross-training of composite technicians, with opportunities for II or III

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 2+ years of training experience.
• Must be certified or able to certify in all composites work centers.
• Experience training and mentoring technicians on industry standards.
• Knowledge of pneumatic tools, calipers, micrometers, and other metrology tools.
• Familiar with drilling, laminating, and assembly prints.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver training programs for aerospace manufacturing, assembly, and repair processes.
• Train personnel on aerospace materials, prepregs, resins, fibers, core materials, and adhesives.
• Ensure training aligns with FAA and AS9100 standards and engineering drawings.
• Create and maintain work instructions, visual aids, and training docs.
• Evaluate technician proficiency through assessments and observations.
• Support onboarding, recurrent training, and cross-training of composite technicians.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to address defects and process improvements.
• Troubleshoot composite manufacturing issues and incorporate lessons learned into training.
