Job summary

Honda Aircraft Company is seeking a Design Engineer to create and improve test fixtures and setups using CATIA V5. You will design full-scale and component fixtures, develop 3D models and 2D drawings to support fabrication and test prep, and coordinate with stress, tooling, purchasing, and quality teams.

The role emphasizes creating effective fixture solutions, reviewing models for conformity, and supporting test execution and issue resolution while adhering to regulatory and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Education or equivalent technical background in mechanical, aerospace, or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of aircraft or aerospace design experience, preferably in R&D, tooling, test fixture design, or other structures work.
• Relevant aircraft production design experience may also be considered.
• Advanced CATIA V5 capability, Microsoft Office, MS Visio, Siemens Teamcenter integration; excellent written and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Test fixture and setup design: design full-scale and component test fixtures, test setup models, 3D models and 2D drawings using CATIA V5 to support fabrication and test preparation.
• Test setup planning and cross-functional coordination: review test requirements and coordinate with stress, tooling, purchasing, and quality teams to prepare designs for testing.
• Design review and documentation support: review 3D models and drawings for conformity and documentation integrity using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing; support conformity documentation, drawing deviations, and discrepancy resolution.
• Test execution and troubleshooting support: support test execution, including troubleshooting and resolution of test setup issues.
