Job summary

Venus Aerospace seeks a Senior Aerospace Structures Engineer in Houston to lead design and analysis of critical components across the hardware lifecycle. You will own CAD models (NX/CATIA), evaluate structures with hand calculations and FEA, and collaborate with GNC, propulsion, avionics, and systems teams.

In a fast-paced startup, you will mentor engineers, establish standards, and support flight qualification plans while working on ITAR-controlled programs.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of relevant engineering experience in aerospace.
• Proficiency in CAD and structural analysis tools (NX/CATIA, NASTRAN/ANSYS).
• Ability to work cross-functionally with GNC, propulsion, avionics.
• U.S. Person eligible to work on ITAR-controlled programs.

Responsibilities

• Independently design and analyze major aerospace components or assemblies.
• Perform strength assessments via hand calcs and FEA.
• Own CAD models in NX/CATIA and manage large assemblies.
• Define loads with GNC, propulsion, avionics, and systems teams.
• Support structural test campaigns and flight qualification planning.
• Develop internal processes and documentation for the team.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and guidance.
• Utilize TeamCenter, Dassault, Jira, Confluence for configuration control.
• Foster a collaborative and communicative team culture.
