Job summary

Pratt & Whitney’s ESTO organization seeks a proactive Principal Structures Engineer in Columbus, GA to support commercial engine programs. You will perform structural assessments of compressor components, collaborating with CIPT, ESTO, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve issues and improve producibility.

The role requires a BS in Engineering with substantial experience (or an advanced degree with fewer years) and hands-on use of ANSYS.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with 8+ years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree with 5+ years of relevant experience.
Experience performing structural analysis of engineering components or hardware with ANSYS or equivalent software.
Ability to manage multiple technical assignments and communicate engineering findings clearly.

Responsibilities

Execute structural analyses for LPC and HPC components using hand calculations and 2D/3D finite element modeling.
Perform redesigns and improvement projects to enhance producibility and performance.
Evaluate and disposition quality nonconformances and supplier information requests; identify issues and propose resolutions.
Collaborate with CIPT, ESTO, quality, and manufacturing teams to develop solutions and deliver structural engineering outputs.
Document analyses; present results and recommendations to integrated product teams and management.
