Honeywell Aerospace in Torrance, CA is seeking a Senior Advanced Software Engineer to design, develop, and integrate complex environmental control and aircraft system software. You will work with cross-functional teams to meet performance, reliability, and regulatory requirements, reporting to the Software Engineering Manager on a hybrid schedule.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 5+ years in mechanical/engineering with emphasis on thermal management modeling; proficiency

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical/chemical engineering with emphasis on thermal management modeling.
• Strong knowledge of system design, integration and testing methodologies.
• Proficiency with modeling tools such as NPSS, SysML and MATLAB for thermal analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine ECS performance models and simulations for complex air and vapor cycle systems.
• Conduct thermodynamic, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics analyses to optimize performance.
• Define system and equipment level KPIs and derive requirements.
• Create and maintain system-level steady-state models and validate with data.
• Coordinate system modeling and handoffs between internal and external stakeholders.
• Support system integration test activities including test plans and data review.
