Job summary

Soap Creek Resources in San Diego, CA, seeks an experienced software engineer to maintain and extend our ASR C++ code base for ground station and drone operations. You will develop new algorithms and extend our communications protocol.

Candidates should have strong C/C++ skills, Python backend, Android development, and solid OO design, Linux/POSIX and Agile experience. A U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one is preferred.

Qualifications

• US Citizenship required.
• Strong development experience with C++.
• Front-end web development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
• Backend Python development.
• Android development using Java or Kotlin.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented programming.
• Strong math/physics background including vector operations.
• Expert in C and C++ including the Standard Template Library.
• Advanced low-level knowledge such as compiler operation and memory management.
• Experience in Linux environment with POSIX-like libraries.
• Comfort working independently with limited oversight.
• Ability to remain calm and effective under operational pressure.
• Experience with Agile software development processes.
• Experience with aerospace software development processes.
• BS in Computer Science or related field preferred.
• Strong Linux background.
• Experience using AI coding assistance tools.
• Experience in video game development.
• Experience in Autonomy systems.
• Experience with architectural patterns such as MVC, MVP, MVVM.
• Experience with cross-platform frameworks such as Flutter, React Native, Xamarin.
• STM32 microcontroller development.
• Real Time Operating Systems.
• Embedded Linux including Yocto.
• Pub/Sub architectural pattern.
• Autonomous systems development.
• Troubleshooting skills (mechanical/electrical/systems)
• U.S. security clearance or ability to obtain one
