Job summary

Turion Space in Irvine, CA is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to lead quality initiatives across aerospace production. You will build out QMS, calibration systems, inspection processes, and own day-to-day quality operations.

You'll collaborate with the Quality & Mission Assurance leadership to define how quality is done as Turion scales, including reading CMM reports, interpreting GD&T, and negotiating dispositions with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Engineering, STEM, or related technical field.
• 7+ years of Quality Engineering experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing.
• Comfortable working across mechanical, composite, and electrical product lines (software experience a plus).
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and ability to read CMM inspection reports.
• Experience with NCR/CAR processes and root cause corrective action methodology.
• Experience with inspection process development and calibration systems.
• Experience with contract review and flow-down of quality requirements.
• Proficient with Microsoft 365 and office tools.
• Eligible to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build and continuously improve QMS procedures, inspection processes, and quality infrastructure.
• Monitor quality systems and perform trend analysis to identify systemic issues and improvements.
• Handle NCRs end-to-end: containment, root cause, disposition, closure.
• Research specs and data to support disposition decisions with stakeholders.
• Develop inspection plans and review GD&T/CMM reports during NCR investigations.
• Establish and monitor calibration systems to keep equipment audit-ready.
• Conduct contract reviews to ensure quality requirements flow from customer to supplier.
• Support audits and maintain compliance with aerospace standards.
