Job summary

Triumph Systems, Electronics and Controls, based in West Hartford, CT, is seeking a Quality Assurance Engineer to support internal and external customers and drive the company’s QA strategy in compliance with industry standards and regulations. The role offers opportunities for advancement within a growing aerospace supplier.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 5+ years in quality within manufacturing, with strong problem-solving skills and knowledge of APQP/PPAP

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Quality or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Quality role within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Aerospace regulatory authority knowledge/experience desired.
  • Must have thorough understanding of problem-solving methods (8D, root cause analysis) and statistical tools.
  • Knowledge of APQP/PPAP tools (PFMEA, Control Plans, PS Characteristics, MSA, Process Capability).
  • Understanding of standards/certification for QMS (AS9100, ISO-9001, AS13100).
  • Ability to prepare/approve First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102 and present to customers.
  • FP&A/Quality interface with suppliers/customers; travel ~10%.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee Customer / Program, Manufacturing Process and Supplier Quality Engineering Duties.
  • Develop and analyze statistical and product/process performance data to drive improvements.
  • Develop, implement and audit Quality Management Systems and documentation.
  • Provide quality interface between the organization, customers and suppliers.
  • Utilize quality tools to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and audit inspection/test plans and acceptance criteria.
  • Participate in new product development and launch activities.
