Job summary

Voyager Space in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Senior Proposal Writer / Proposal Architect to join its Proposal Development Team. You will strategize, architect, and write technical proposals for NASA, the DoD, and civil customers, with opportunities to contribute engineering insights to bid content.

The role suits systems engineers, technical PMs, space scientists, and other high-level thinkers who can craft compelling narratives and visuals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; advanced degrees may be considered in lieu of experience.
• 5+ years of aerospace industry experience or related field.
• Basic understanding of spacecraft systems and engineering principles.
• Experience writing competitive proposals for funding.
• Ability to communicate technical topics through prose and visuals.
• High-level strategic thinking for storyboard-based narratives.
• Strong critical thinking to identify and correct errors.
• Excellent writing with grammar, flow, tone and conciseness.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
• High attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop technically credible, convincing aerospace proposals for NASA, DoW, and other customers.
• Draft content for proposals, including product descriptions, specs, and performance requirements.
• Contribute to proposal win themes, storyboards, and strategic narratives.
• Contribute to executive summaries and other critical sections.
• Interview subject matter experts to gather information for proposals.
• Review technical documentation and convert it into polished content.
• Collaborate with graphic designers to present content visually.
• Assemble, review, and edit proposals for accuracy and guidelines.
• Rework content based on stakeholder feedback.
• Provide guidance to junior writers on the team.
