Job summary

BARNES Aerospace in Warren, MI is seeking a senior Manufacturing/Process Engineer to independently plan, develop, implement, validate, and continuously improve manufacturing processes for complex aerospace components, including machining, welding, heat treatment, EDM, plasma spray, NDT, and other special processes.

Qualifications

• Experience reading and applying engineering drawings, models and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T requirements.
• Experience with CAD/CAM systems and 3D modeling for shop documentation.
• Familiarity with ERP systems and controlled manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple technical projects under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Independently plan, develop, implement, and validate manufacturing processes for aerospace components.
• Provide shop-floor engineering support for interruptions, setup issues, and process capability concerns.
• Develop and optimize CNC strategies, tooling, and fixtures for multi-axis operations.
• Interpret customer drawings and ASME GD&T requirements to create manufacturable plans.
• Troubleshoot metrology results and coordinate with Quality to establish measurement methods.
• Maintain manufacturing documentation in ERP and related systems, including routings and BOMs.
• Lead investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions for nonconformances.
