Job summary

BARNES is seeking an experienced engineering leader to oversee all new product introduction activities in a Warren, MI facility. You will direct engineering staff to support sales, manufacturing, and quality, ensuring milestones, budgets, and customer expectations are met.

Responsibilities include improving manufacturing processes, providing technical support to customers, and mentoring engineers to achieve peak performance.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years aerospace engineering experience with manufacturing of Ti and Ni alloys.
• 3–5 years in supervisory roles; demonstrated leadership and EI.
• Knowledge of AS9100, Nadcap and aerospace contracts preferred.
• Strong communication and change leadership abilities.
• Familiarity with ERP systems; Syteline experience preferred.
• Bachelor's in engineering; MBA preferred; Six Sigma Black Belt a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee new product introduction engineering to meet milestones, budgets, and technical customer expectations.
• Plan, organize, and direct engineering staff to support sales, manufacturing, and quality.
• Ensure tooling and processes comply with standards.
• Direct development of new manufacturing processes and revisions for better part production.
• Provide technical support to customers on engineering issues.
• Develop, coach and mentor engineers to high performance; foster excellence.
• Lead with Emotional Intelligence to motivate and direct the team.
• Coordinate tooling and NC programs for part processing.
• Manage inventory and accountability for customer-owned tooling.
• Drive continuous improvement to reduce costs for legacy products.
