Job summary

Quartus Engineering Inc in United States (Herndon, VA) is seeking a Senior Engineer for its Aerospace sector. You will design structures and mechanisms for spacecraft and aircraft, oversee the full project lifecycle, and mentor junior engineers while engaging with diverse customers.

You will work on concept design, maturation, prototyping, testing, and potentially on-floor assembly during builds. A BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering and 6–10 years of experience are required, with strong CAD and FEA

Qualifications

6–10 years total engineering experience.
Minimum 5 years in design for spacecraft.
Experience with electro-mechanical systems and high-precision mechanisms.
CAD proficiency and GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
Experience with manufacturing methods (machining, welding, composites) and costing.

Responsibilities

Design and develop structures, mechanisms, and ground support equipment for spacecraft and high-value systems.
Perform concept-level analyses and own technical challenges across development stages.
Lead project execution, reviews, and customer communications.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards.
Support proposals and technical presentations.
