Job summary

Rendezvous Robotics in Golden, Colorado, seeks a Mid to Senior Level Spacecraft Structures Engineer to own the design, analysis, and packaging of satellite bus structures and mounting hardware. You will lead from concept through qualification, production, and on-orbit operation, partnering with systems, electrical, avionics, software, manufacturing, and test teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (advanced degree a plus).
• 4+ years spacecraft structural and mechanical design experience.
• Experience with flight hardware concepts from concept to qualification.
• Experience mounting components to primary structure and managing dynamic environments.
• Thermal-mechanical design experience including heat pipes, doublers, and CTE considerations.
• Proficiency with structural FEA for modal, quasi-static and random vibration.
• Strong 3D CAD, drawings, GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
• Knowledge of spaceflight materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to communicate across engineering disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Own spacecraft primary and secondary structure from concept to on-orbit operation.
• Design component mounting, local stiffening, and dynamic response of hardware.
• Design conduction paths, thermal interfaces, and heat pipe integration.
• Design solar cell mounting and coverglass handling.
• Execute detailed layout balancing structural, thermal, power, and avionics.
• Perform component and assembly level structural analysis including vibration.
• Define harness routing and accommodation.
• Collaborate with suppliers/fabricators; produce GD&T drawings.
• Support prototypes, environmental and vibration testing, verification.
• Lead vibroacoustic and detailed thermal analyses and iterate design.
