Karman Space & Defense in Mukilteo, WA is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to lead aerospace and flight-worthy structures and mechanisms design. The role involves supporting new business development efforts, mentorship, and hands-on design leadership. Ideal candidates possess a degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, with 6+ years of related experience, and proficiency in SolidWorks.

The position offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and a 401(k) plan. Candidates must be U.S. citizens and able to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in design of aerospace and/or defense systems.
• Proven experience in designing robust hardware that has passed qualification testing.
• Ability to read drawings and technical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts on systems and sub-systems.
• Generate Bill of Materials for Assemblies and complete drafting packages.
• Mentor junior engineers and support prototyping efforts.
