Job summary

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks a Sr. Principal Aeronautical Engineer – Subsystem Design Engineer to join our El Segundo/ Palmdale team.

The role focuses on designing avionics, control surfaces, and propulsion interfaces, translating system requirements into robust subsystem specifications, and conducting rigorous analyses. You will work in an IPT environment with full-time, on-site commitments, travel up to 25%, and eligibility for SAP access where required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in a STEM discipline with extensive related engineering experience.
• Experience developing subsystem components and interfacing with other disciplines.
• Proficiency in CAD, drafting, and BOM creation; knowledge of MBSE is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop subsystem components to meet performance and reliability goals.
• Translate system requirements into subsystem specs and drawings.
• Plan and execute subsystem-level tests and resolve issues.
• Support configuration management and design reviews.
