Job summary

Novo Nordisk is seeking a Senior Application Architect to lead a team in designing, developing and implementing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions that support digital transformation and business goals.

The role requires extensive AEM experience, Java/J2EE, RESTful APIs, and the ability to mentor developers; 10–20% travel. Collaboration with IT teams and stakeholders is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field; degree requirements may be substituted by relevant experience.
• 8 years of software development experience, with at least 5 years in AEM development and architecture.
• Hands-on experience with AEM Sites, Assets and Forms.
• Experience with agentic coding and AI-assisted software engineering in AEM.
• Strong understanding of AEM architecture: components, templates, workflows, OSGi.
• Proficient in Java, J2EE and related web technologies.
• Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern frameworks.
• Knowledge of integration patterns, RESTful APIs and microservices.
• AEM deployment, performance optimization and scalability.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• AEM certifications (ACE/ACA) are a plus.
• Knowledge of OS, relational databases, data integration tools and web-based solutions.
• Knowledge of testing methods and tools for web technologies.

Responsibilities

• Engage stakeholders to define technical capabilities and impacts at enterprise and AEM level.
• Translate requirements into scalable AEM solutions.
• Create and maintain AEM design docs: architecture diagrams, data models, integration specs.
• Integrate AEM with other enterprise systems and third-party apps.
• Lead design and architecture of AEM solutions aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with on-site/off-shore teams; lead design sessions and guide best practices.
• Drive improvements in AEM development processes and methodologies.
• Participate in code reviews, performance tuning and troubleshooting.
• Monitor AEM for SOP, audit, security compliance.
• Stay current with AEM updates and recommend platform enhancements.
• Mentor junior AEM developers.
