Job summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to deliver high-quality patient care within the Jail South Tower and Lew Sterrett Justice Center facilities. The role involves diagnosing, treating, educating and referring patients, with escalation to supervising physicians as needed.

Requirements include a PA or NP/ CNM/CNS pathway, Texas licensure, current BLS, NCCPA or other certs as applicable, and 3–5+ years of APP experience in similar duties.

Qualifications

• Must have current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification.
• Physician Assistant: current Texas PA licensure and NCCPA certification.
• Nurse Practitioner: Texas RN license and APRN license with family/adult-gerontology scope.
• CNM/CNS certifications as applicable for APRN roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in designated specialty with history taking, exams, diagnoses, and plans of care.
• Record findings and manage time to optimize resources and referrals.
• Educate patients and families for self-management and follow-up plans.
• Train and supervise APP students and residents; serve as clinical resource.
• Keep up-to-date with advances; participate in education and QA/QI activities.
• Maintain relationships with PHHS staff and ensure patient-centered service.
• Ensure compliance with state/federal laws and organizational policies.
• Identify workflow improvements; participate in QA/QI projects and research.
• Support annual goals and committee participation.
