Job summary

MUSC Health seeks a compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide high-quality care in a correctional setting. This PRN role involves evaluating and treating acute and chronic conditions with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to underserved patients.

The APP will work at the top of their license in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, contributing to safe, timely, and evidence-based care while supporting student precepting opportunities.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program and licensure eligibility as a PA or completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and licensure eligibility as an APRN.
• APRNs may include AGPNP/ANP or FNP credentials and corresponding practice scope.
• DHEC and DEA license and Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and treat patients based on history, exam, labs, and imaging within scope of practice.
• Initiate referrals or consult with supervising physician as needed.
• Document and bill for direct patient care.
• Possibility to precept advanced practice provider students.
• Perform patient evaluations, consultations, and procedural planning.
• Obtain informed consent and educate patients on procedures.
• Perform procedures within APP scope of practice.
