Job summary

Ascension Via Christi Hospitals in Wichita, KS is seeking a Pharmacy Technician specializing in Home Infusion to support IV medication compounding and patient care.

The role involves benefit investigations, inventory management, and collaboration with care teams to ensure safe, timely medication access. Educational materials for patients will also be prepared to enhance wellness.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Kansas Board of Pharmacy or national certs (PTCB/NHA) required.
• Active Pharmacy Technician Certification mandatory for this infusion role.
• Valid State Pharmacy Technician license in good standing.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Lead home infusion specialized medication preparation by performing IV medication compounding to ensure patients receive precise, life‑saving treatments.
• Optimize medication access by conducting benefit investigations and navigating financial assistance programs to remove barriers to patient care.
• Drive clinical safety by expertly maintaining and managing drug inventory to prevent shortages and ensure medication availability.
• Support integrated care by acting as a liaison between the pharmacy, patients, and external providers to facilitate the seamless exchange of critical health information.
• Enhance patient wellness through the preparation of educational materials.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Kansas Board of Pharmacy obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
• One or more of the following required: Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Pharmacy Tech credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

Work Experience:

• Active Pharmacy Technician Certification: A current, nationally recognized certification is mandatory for this specialized infusion role.
• Valid State Licensure: You must hold a valid Pharmacy Technician license in good standing to perform distributive pharmacy services.
