Job summary

Acuity Inc. is seeking an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes and equipment across locations in the United States.

You will lead cross-functional projects, develop cost-effective solutions, and drive Lean initiatives to improve efficiency, quality, capacity, and process integrity. You will collaborate with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and suppliers, supporting new product introductions and achieving production readiness.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or a related manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and equipment to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, quality, capacity, cost, and process integrity.
  • Design, develop, and implement manufacturing equipment, process improvements, and mechatronic solutions.
  • Lead manufacturing engineering projects from concept through implementation, including design reviews, project schedules, supplier coordination, equipment acceptance, installation, and production readiness.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams during new product development to ensure DFM, quality, cost, and operational requirements are incorporated.
  • Lead cross-functional projects involving Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, suppliers, and internal/international stakeholders.
  • Develop business cases for manufacturing investments and present technical and financial recommendations to leadership.
  • Develop and review machine capacity models and recommend solutions for capacity constraints.
  • Perform process capability analysis, including Cp/Cpk and GR&R, for new and existing processes.
  • Lead Lean and Kaizen initiatives focused on continuous improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency.
  • Research emerging manufacturing technologies and work with suppliers to implement solutions.
  • Troubleshoot processes and equipment and develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Train Operations and other stakeholders on new equipment and methods.
  • Serve as a resource to colleagues with less experience.
