Job summary

UC San Diego Health Sciences seeks an Administrative Vice Chair in Neurosciences to lead the department’s administrative, financial and operational activities. You will partner with leadership to align budgets with research and clinical priorities and oversee core functions across departments and centers.

The role requires senior-level experience in academic health care administration, strategic budgeting, and stakeholder collaboration to advance science and patient care at UC San Diego.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, health or hospital administration or clinical degree and/or equivalent experience.
• Eight or more years of relevant experience in administrative and financial operations in a complex academic or health care organization.
• Excellent leadership and executive management experience overseeing large academic departments.
• Experience managing a large research portfolio and the financial operations of research centers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the department's administrative, financial and operational performance.
• Provide strategic leadership to align budgets with research and clinical priorities.
• Partner with the Chair, Health Sciences and campus leadership on policy, planning and governance.
• Direct internal control, regulatory compliance and resource stewardship across units.
