Job summary

UC San Diego Health Sciences is seeking an Administrative Vice Chair for the Neurosciences department, based in La Jolla. The role reports to the Department Chair and the Associate Dean, providing strategic, financial, and operational leadership across research, education and clinical programs.

The AdVC directs budgeting, personnel, sponsored research administration, IT, facilities and compliance, aligning resources with departmental goals and external partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, health or hospital administration or clinical degree and / or equivalent experience / training.
• Eight (8) or more years of relevant experience in financial operations within a complex academic/healthcare setting.
• Executive management experience in a large academic/healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, operational and financial leadership for the Neurosciences department.
• Oversee administrative, financial and operational performance and control resources.
• Partner with clinical leaders on program management and budgets.
