Job summary

Divergent is hiring a manufacturing engineering role to productionize and scale our capital equipment, including laser powder bed fusion machines and automated assembly assets. The role translates complex technology from concept to repeatable manufacturing execution.

You will own manufacturing readiness, develop clear procedures, and lead cross-functional collaboration to improve manufacturability, cycle times, and reliability across critical modules.

Qualifications

• Ownership of complex areas demonstrated.
• Strong experience in troubleshooting, RCCA, and quality documentation.
• Manufacturing experience with capital equipment or automation is preferred.
• Experience with PLM, MES, configuration management and change control.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary manufacturing development owner for one or more critical modules, subsystems, or processes.
• Develop deep technical understanding of assigned systems including architecture, operating modes, controls, interfaces, failure modes, and interactions.
• Own manufacturing readiness from development through build, commissioning, validation, qualification, and production handoff.
• Lead the development of clear work instructions, SOPs, test procedures, and process documentation.
• Lead troubleshooting, RCCA, and corrective actions to improve reliability, uptime and quality.
• Partner with design engineering, automation, software, operations, quality, supply chain, and R&D to improve manufacturability.
• Drive DFM, DFA, tolerance, process capability, tooling, fixtures, and cycle-time improvements.
• Support design changes through PLM, configuration management, and production cut-in.
• Mentor engineers and technicians to raise standards.
