Job summary

Serco Inc. seeks a Senior Additive Manufacturing Engineer in the Washington, DC area to design, develop, and test AM processes for the Virginia Class Submarine Program (PMS450).

You will oversee machines, software, part design and analysis, and work with a team to optimize build parameters and production outcomes. The role requires a DoW Secret clearance and a mechanical engineering background with 10+ years in propulsion or metallic additive tech.

Qualifications

  • Active DoW Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years in propulsion component design or metallic additive tech.
  • Excellent communications and analytical skills; able to brief senior leaders.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; ability to work independently and in teams.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and develop Acquisition Management solutions; support mid-level initiatives and clients with technical expertise.
  • Provide AM engineering consulting; participate in technical reviews and analyze operability, merit, and schedule risk.
  • Review production data and documentation; test and evaluate AM changes; analyze producibility and processes.
  • Recommend strategies for directorate coordination and risk mitigation in production and migration.
  • Advise on migration, program schedule, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • Possess wide latitude for design and problem-solving; lead small teams if needed.
  • Communicate results to Responsible Engineers to mature production processes.
  • Produce reports, procedures, and manuals to mature development to production.
