Job summary

Slate is seeking a Sr. ADAS Release Engineer in Troy, Michigan to develop and manage the ADAS requirements for our battery electric vehicles. You will lead cross-functional reviews, release control modules in PLM, and drive DFMEA with Tier-1 suppliers to ensure robust camera and sensor performance.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, collaboration across hardware and validation teams, and applying LEAN engineering principles to deliver reliable ADAS features.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Software Engineering (ABET preferred).
• 5 years of relevant experience in ADAS or automotive release roles.
• Authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not offered.

Responsibilities

• Release the control module parts in the PLM system and maintain release levels as the design matures.
• Review hardware design with cross-functional teams to ensure requirements are met.
• Develop and document test plans for the front camera module.
• Lead DFMEA reviews to identify risks and drive controls to improve detection and reduce failures.
• Train technicians on theory of operations and controls logic behind subsystems.
• Collaborate with HIL/SIL Validation Engineers to ensure design meets program requirements.
• Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices across the lifecycle.
