Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Senior Coding Specialist- Acute Care to support daily operations and coding quality. The role emphasizes coordinating workflows, providing technical coding expertise, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a remote-friendly environment.

Requirements include 2 years of coding experience and CCS/CIC/CCA/RHIT/CPC/COC certifications, with HIM experience preferred. High School diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years coding experience required.
• CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s) required.
• 1 year Health Information Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Team Coordinator/Manager with daily operations and workflow coordination.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the coding team and participate in quality control activities.
• Monitor work processes for designated team and aid in meeting regulatory requirements.
