Job summary

Sentara Health is seeking a Senior Coding Specialist- Acute Care to support daily operations, ensure quality and service, and help meet regulatory requirements through technical coding expertise. You will act as a technical resource for team members and participate in quality control and staff development activities.

The role requires 2 years of coding experience with CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certifications; 1 year HIM experience preferred.

Qualifications

• 2 years coding experience required.
• CCS, CIC, CCA, RHIT, CPC, or COC certification(s) required.
• 1 year Health Information Management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Team Coordinator/Manager with daily operations and coordination of work.
• Serve as technical resource for team members through quality control and staff development activities.
• Assist in facilitating and monitoring the work processes of the designated team.
