Job summary

Venerable seeks an AVP, Managing Actuary to provide robust actuarial analysis and strategic insights. You will collaborate with the Strategy team and Finance functions to support decisions on in-force management, new business opportunities, and capital projections.

This role emphasizes mentoring, senior leadership presentations, and process improvements, with a strong VM-21/capital modeling background and advanced programming skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or related field.
• FSA or Career ASA certification.
• 10+ years in financial, insurance, or actuarial roles.
• Strong understanding of modeling and ability to challenge approaches.
• Excellent communication across varied audiences.

Responsibilities

• Create analyses related to block management actions, policyholder offerings, investments, funds, and new business flow.
• Support due diligence for in‑force and new business opportunities.
• Research regulatory changes impacting VM‑21 reserves and capital.
• Improve projection models and scenario development.
• Mentor junior staff and present results to senior leadership.
