Job summary

National Life Group in Addison, TX, seeks an AVP & Actuary – Enterprise ALM Strategy to advance the analytical framework linking assets, liabilities, product design, and investments. Reporting to the Chief Actuary, this role informs profitable growth, balance sheet management, and long-term performance.

The ideal candidate combines life/annuity ALM expertise with the ability to influence senior leaders through analytics, collaboration, and strategic thinking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or related quantitative field.
• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) required/noted.
• Extensive experience in life and annuity asset‑liability management.

Responsibilities

• Develop enterprise ALM analyses to improve balance sheet management and long-term performance.
• Provide actuarial insights across liabilities, assets, product design, and investments.
• Collaborate with Investments to assess asset‑liability interactions and support decisions.
• Partner with Product Development to assess ALM implications of new products and pricing strategies.
• Define strategic ALM analytical needs and work with modeling teams on frameworks and scenarios.
• Monitor regulatory, accounting, and industry developments and assess implications for financial strategy.
• Present analyses to executive leadership to inform enterprise strategy.
