Job summary

State of Colorado, Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) seeks an actuarial professional to support the Division of Insurance. The role involves reviewing rate filings, developing statistical models, and ensuring compliance with PPACA and state regulations.

Qualifications

• Eight (8) years of professional work experience in a regulated insurance company, in a consulting actuarial firm, in a governmental work regulating insurance companies, or in other financial or insurance entities by performing and providing support with actuarial work.
• Documentation of experience is required in the application.

Responsibilities

• Review rate filings and rating plans for conformity to statutes and standards.
• Participate in rate and network hearings as needed.
• Manage external actuarial consultants and respond to legislative requests.
• Develop statistical models and assist with research on claim cost utilization.
• Ensure compliance with health plan requirements under PPACA and state laws.
