Job summary

Ideal candidates will have CAS/ACAS or enrolled actuary status, strong legislative and data-analysis skills, and the ability to travel limitedly.

Qualifications

  • Performs complex actuarial calculations to assess rate filings for compliance.
  • Supervises senior actuarial staff and analysts and monitors their work.
  • Maintains reporting and interpretation of statutorily required data and statistics.

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex actuarial calculations to determine rate filing compliance.
  • Supervise actuarial staff and monitor performance.
  • Provide actuarial consulting on legislative issues and regulatory changes.
  • Direct and oversee studies or projects per requests from the Insurance Commissioner and other agencies.
  • Respond to information requests from stakeholders and public records requests.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and position papers.
