Job summary

The Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) seeks an experienced Chief Actuary to oversee the Actuarial Services Section of the Division of Insurance. You will lead actuarial analyses, guidance on reserve funding, and rate-setting activities, while ensuring policyholder protection and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, coordinating with consultants, and ensuring compliance with RBC and actuarial standards.

Qualifications

• Two paths to qualify: 10 years actuarial experience with supervision or a Bachelor’s plus 6 years actuarial experience with supervision.
• Professional actuarial credentials (SOA/CAS) encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze annual actuarial opinions, reports and memoranda.
• Provide actuarial analysis for rate filings and solvency standards.
• Supervise staff and coordinate with internal/external consultants.
