Job summary

The State of Colorado, Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA), seeks an experienced Chief Actuary to oversee actuarial services, reserve adequacy, and fair premium rates within the Division of Insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in actuarial science, economics, finance, mathematics, statistics or related field.
• Eight+ years actuarial experience if Bachelor’s degree; supervision experience required.
• Substitutions may apply for degree with professional actuarial experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform actuarial reviews of rate filings and financial examinations.
• Provide guidance on reserving, RBC, and regulatory compliance; support expert analyses.
