Job summary

Health Care Service Corporation is seeking an experienced actuary to lead the implementation, maintenance, and critical review of models and systems using actuarial principles for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting, and related functions.

The role requires ASA/MAAA, strong communication, and at least 5 years of health actuarial experience with 2+ years in management, plus proficiency in Word/Excel. This is a remote role based from home five days a week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
• ASA and MAAA memberships.
• At least 5 years of actuarial experience in health insurance or related field.
• At least 2 years in a management/lead capacity.
• Strong verbal and written communication to prepare documentation and presentations.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage the implementation, maintenance and critical review of models, studies and systems using actuarial principles for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, forecasting and other actuarial functions.
• Develop complicated models and teach others how to develop models.
• Create written and oral presentations to drive decision making.
