Health Care Service Corporation seeks a skilled actuary to manage the implementation, maintenance, and critical review of models and studies using actuarial principles for pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving, and forecasting.

The role develops complex models, teaches others to build models, and leads day-to-day projects across departments, requiring deep expertise in a chosen actuarial area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or Economics.
• ASA designation and MAAA membership.
• At least 4 years of actuarial experience in health insurance or related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage implementation, maintenance and critical review of actuarial models and studies.
• Apply actuarial principles to pricing, underwriting, statistics, reserving and forecasting.
• Develop and present complex models and teach others how to develop models.
• Lead day-to-day projects across departments and ensure understanding of actuarial areas.
• Demonstrate deep understanding of one actuarial area or business segment.
