Securian Financial is building a new Group Disability & Leave pricing capability. The Senior Actuary will own pricing assumptions, methods, tools, and governance for disability products, collaborating with product, underwriting, finance, and external consultants.

The role requires deep pricing knowledge, strategic thinking, and ability to communicate complex actuarial topics; potential to lead a pricing team as the business grows. Hybrid work is offered with in-office collaboration in St.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Group Disability & Leave products with pricing and rate filing experience.
• Experience developing actuarial assumptions, pricing methods, tools, and supporting analysis for Disability and Leave products.
• Experience connecting pricing with financial modeling, valuation, and financial results.
• Proficiency with Prophet, R, Excel, or VBA.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsabilités

• Create and own pricing assumptions, methods, tools, documentation, and controls for Group Disability & Leave products.
• Develop disability experience rating tools, including development of reserves and related assumptions for pricing.
• Support development of pricing for new business and renewal strategies.
• Lead actuarial support for product filings and regulatory responses; collaborate with external consultants.
• Provide actuarial consultation on plan design and pricing for complex or large cases.
• Develop and maintain quoting tools to support accurate case pricing.
• Monitor claims experience and identify trends to adjust pricing assumptions as needed.
• Translate actuarial and financial analysis into clear business recommendations.
