Job summary

Cincinnatus LLC is hiring a senior insurance and actuarial domain expert to work with a leading AI lab's research and program management teams, crafting instruction specs, golden solutions, and benchmarks for frontier AI models in insurance. This hybrid Bay Area role requires on-site collaboration with the client's teams several days per week.

The role demands 4+ years of deep insurance experience, actuarial credentials or license, and strong AI fluency to translate expertise into explicit

Qualifications

• Actuarial credentials (FSA/ASA/FCAS/ACAS) or an active state license in adjusting, underwriting, or broking.
• 4+ years of substantive insurance experience at a carrier, reinsurer, broker, adjusting firm, or regulator.
• Genuine specialization in at least one insurance domain area (life, P&C, health, etc.).
• Clear senior-level progression with ownership of a book, reserve, or claims portfolio.
• Hands-on experience using large language models in professional work.
• Able to commit reliably to 40 hours per week for an initial engagement of 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Data QA and reviews: Vet insurance knowledge tasks and model outputs for accuracy and professional scrutiny.
• Instruction specs and golden datasets: Write specs and solutions defining correct outcomes.
• Benchmarks and domain depth: Design challenging tasks and evaluation sets with domain tools.
• Calibration: Align standards with client researchers and translate judgment into teachable criteria.
