Job summary

Mercor is seeking a senior insurance and actuarial domain expert to join its cutting-edge GenAI team, improving how frontier models reason about real insurance work. You will write instruction specs, develop golden solutions, and build benchmarks that reflect real-world practice.

This is a full-time W-2 role with Cincinnatus LLC, based in the Bay Area, with on-site collaboration required several days a week. Relocation to the Bay Area at your cost is expected if needed.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of substantive insurance experience at a carrier, reinsurer, broker, adjusting firm, or regulator.
• Genuine specialization in at least one area (life, P&C, health, pricing, underwriting, etc.).
• Clear progression to a senior level with ownership of a book, reserve, or portfolio.
• Hands-on use of large language models in professional work with sound judgment.
• Willingness to relocate to Bay Area and commit to 40 hours per week for an initial engagement.

Responsibilities

• Data QA and reviews: Vet the quality of insurance knowledge work tasks and model outputs.
• Instruction specs and golden datasets: Write specs and golden solutions for insurance and actuarial problems.
• Benchmarks and domain depth: Design challenging insurance tasks and evaluation sets.
• Calibration: Align standards with client researchers and translate tacit insurance judgment into explicit criteria.
